MovementModeler – Privacy Policy

1. Overview

MovementModeler is a motion-analysis utility that converts videos on your device into stick-figure animations and BODY_25-style JSON data. This privacy policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used.

In short: your videos and extracted motion data stay on your device unless you decide to export or share them.

2. Information We Collect

MovementModeler is designed to collect and store as little personal data as possible.

We do not:

• Create user accounts or profiles.
• Track you across apps or websites.
• Collect analytics via third-party SDKs.
• Upload your videos or motion data to our servers (we do not operate any backend for this app).

The app may access or process:

• Videos you select from your device’s photo library or camera, solely to extract poses and render stick-figure animations.
• Exported files (JSON or video) that you choose to save or share using the iOS share sheet.

3. On-Device Processing

All pose detection and stick-figure rendering are performed locally on your device using Apple’s Vision and related frameworks. We do not receive copies of:

• Your input videos.
• The generated stick-figure videos.
• The exported JSON data.

Any files you create with MovementModeler are stored where you choose (for example, in the Files app, your photo library, or a cloud service selected in the iOS share sheet). Those services have their own privacy policies.

4. Permissions

MovementModeler may request access to the following system resources:

• Photo Library – to allow you to select existing videos for analysis and to save exported stick videos if you choose.
• Camera – optional, to let you record new clips directly in the app for processing.
• Microphone – only when recording video through the app, so your video includes audio if you wish. Audio is not analyzed by MovementModeler.

You can change these permissions at any time in your iOS Settings. If you revoke access, some features (such as loading videos from the library or recording new ones) may no longer work.

5. Crash Reports & Diagnostics

With your system settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous or aggregated crash reports and performance data through Xcode / App Store Connect. These reports may include:

• Device model and iOS version
• App version and basic performance data
• Non-personal diagnostic information related to the crash

We use this information only to improve app stability and performance. We do not use it to identify individual users or to track behavior across apps.

6. How Your Data Is Shared

MovementModeler only shares data when you explicitly choose to do so, for example by:

• Saving a stick-figure video to your library or Files.
• Exporting BODY_25 JSON and sending it via Messages, Mail, AirDrop, or another app.

Once exported, your files are governed by the privacy practices of the apps and services you share them with. We do not control or monitor those services.

7. Children’s Privacy

MovementModeler is a technical / creative tool intended for general audiences, including developers, researchers, and creators. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this app, please contact us so we can work with Apple to address the issue.

8. Data Retention

Because MovementModeler performs processing locally on your device and does not maintain its own user accounts or cloud storage, you control how long your videos and exported files are kept. You can delete them at any time from the Photos app, Files app, or whichever storage service you used.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app evolves or as legal requirements change. When we do, we will update the “Effective date” at the top of this page. Material changes may also be noted in the app’s release notes.
